A horizontal sand mill is a continuous wet grinding device with a horizontal grinding cylinder, widely used for fine dispersing of paints, inks and lithium battery materials. Driven by high-speed dispersing discs, it uses grinding beads to produce strong shear force and crush materials into ultra-fine particles. This horizontal sand mill features stable operation, narrow particle distribution and high production efficiency. It supports customized explosion-proof structures and easy daily maintenance, perfectly matching mass production demands of chemical, cosmetic and pigment industries.
Massive Size Range (1L to 100L)
Balanced Speed and Torque
Superior Cooling & SealingThe ZLWS horizontal sand mill is engineered for medium-low viscosity materials including liquid inks (inkjet/-gravure/flexo inks), automotive refinish paints, electronic pastes, pesticides, and nanomaterials. Its modular centrifugal screen assembly significantly expands separation area for smooth discharge and high-volume production with easy maintenance. Grinding media down to 0.3-0.5mm enables nanoscale fineness. Disc/profiled disc/toothed dispersing structures (up to 15m/s linear speed) adapt to material properties, enhancing grinding efficiency and output quality of the horizontal sand mill. Double mechanical seals with cooling unit and level monitoring ensure operational safety, while SiC/ZrO2/PU-customizable chambers and discs of the horizontal sand mill eliminate metal contamination.

Many chemical and coating manufacturers process a wide variety of products with varying requirements. Buying a highly specialized mill for every single product line is not cost-effective. You need a reliable, adaptable machine that forms the backbone of your factory.
The ZLWS series horizontal sand mill is our flagship horizontal sand mill line, representing the perfect balance of speed, torque, and flow. Ranging from a 1-Liter lab model up to a 100-Liter mass production unit, this series offers the ultimate versatility. Equipped with an advanced pin-type or disc-type rotor and highly efficient dynamic separation, it reliably processes low-to-medium viscosity fluids down to the nanometer level.

With 8 different volume models (1L, 5L, 10L, 20L, 30L, 40L, 60L, 100L), factories can standardize their entire production line on a single, proven mechanical architecture from R&D to global mass production of a horizontal sand mill.

The rotor speeds (ranging from 1500 rpm on the 1L down to 580 rpm on the 100L) are mathematically calibrated to provide the optimal kinetic energy for standard paints, inks, and chemicals in every horizontal sand mill unit.

Features double-acting mechanical seals compatible with a wide range of barrier fluids, ensuring leak-proof operation whether you are milling water-based or aggressive solvent-based formulations.
